Under a clear blue sky and brilliant sunshine the residents of Emsworth turned out in their hundreds to salute the soldiers from 58 (Eyre's) Battery Royal Artillery. The battery traditionally recruit from Lancashire and Cumbria, but are based at Thorney Island paraded through the town to receive their Afghanistan campaign medals in an historic ceremony.
