11 April Emsworth Maritime and Historical Trust: Emsworth Museum reopens. David Willetts MP will open a refurbished Emsworth Museum at 10.30 am Easter Saturday. The first special exhibition will be The History of 47 Regiment Royal Artillery (The Hampshire and Sussex Gunners In its 230 year history, the regiment has fought in the American colonies, through  Waterloo,two World Wars, Korea and now Afghanistan. This colourful display has , photos medals, photos,ancient documents and artefacts commemorating the glorious  past and present of the regiment. Museum admission is free.

13th April & 12th Emsworth Art Group. Easter Exhibition and Sale of Paintings The exhibition will take place in the Lumley Room of the Emsworth Community Centre . Admission is free and there will be over 150 pictures on sale. (10am to 5pm)

16 June   Havant Borough Draft Core Strategy Exhibition Pastoral Centre, 10am - 2pm.  Havant Borough Council is formally consulting on the Core Strategy - Draft (Regulation 25) and the Residential Car Parking Supplementary Planning Document (Regulation 17). The consultation period is from the 12th June 2009 until the 24th July 2009. The Core Strategy is part of the Local Development Framework and sets out the overall development distribution strategy for the future of the borough over the next 20 years together with polices for determining planning applications and identifies nine strategic development sites.At the same time there is consultation on the Residential Car Parking and Cycle Provision Supplementary Planning Document (Regulation 17). 25 October The Oyster Trail Guided walk starting from Emsworth Museum at 2.00p.m. Cost £3.00 per person (all monies go towards the upkeep of the Oyster boat “Terror”) this includes – a slide presentation and walk (lasting about 1 hour 30 minutes), trail map and Emsworth postcard. Oysters have been fished in Emsworth harbour for centuries. At the height of the industry (second half of the 19th century), almost 5 million oysters a year came out of Emsworth and almost half the locally employed population earned their living from fishing and the industries that supported it, such as boat building.
