The residents of Emsworth are spoilt for choice with eight pubs,  five excellent restaurants, four takeaways and five cafés it should be no surprise that Emsworth was the home of the Emsworth Food festival, the UK's largest independent food festival from 2001-7.

In Emsworth you have the choice of eating in a Michelin rated restaurant (36 on The Quay) or a cafe serving all day breakfasts and everything in between. In the late nineteenth century there were thirty pubs in the town now there are only nine which works out at one per thousand inhabitants!
