WHO ARE

GOOD NEIGHBOURS?

These days we do not always know our neighbours. It's sometimes difficult to know who to turn to if we need help.

We are a local Neighbourcare Group, set up to help those people in our community who would appreciate a little assistance.

There are over 100 Neighbourcare Groups in Hampshire, many others elsewhere in the country. The groups are voluntary and independent.

WHAT DO WE DO?

ANYTHING A GOOD

NEIGHBOUR MIGHT DO,

SUCH AS ........

•      Make a cup of tea and have a chat.

•      Practical help eg hanging curtains.

•      Errands, prescriptions and shopping.

•      Giving carers a break.

•      Transport* eg hospital appointments and visiting, GP and dentist appointments, shopping.

The first time you contact us, we will take your name and address and arrange a home visit.

A 24 hour answer service is available. Please leave a clear message including your name and telephone number.

Our home visitor will then come and see you at a convenient time and explain how the Scheme may assist you.

Once we have made the home visit you may request any further help by leaving a clear message on the answerphone including:

•       Name

•       Telephone number

•       Help required

Please allow a minimum of 48 hours

notice.

ABOUT OUR VOLUNTEERS

All   our  volunteers   are   carefully

selected.

Drivers   have  their  vehicles  fully

insured, taxed and roadworthy.

Any information about the users of

our service is treated in a confidential

manner.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We are a voluntary organisation. All our volunteers give their time free of charge. However, we do pay our drivers expenses.

If you request transport your driver can give you an indication of the cost to Emsworth Good Neighbours. A donation towards petrol costs and other expenses would be welcome

CAN YOU HELP US?

We are always looking for volunteers. Give as much or as little time as you want.
