The Coach House Emsworth
Set in the garden of a Georgian house reputedly built for one of Nelson’s lieutenants in 1805 this beautiful old Coach house has been meticulously transformed into modern comfortable accommodation. The building pre-dates the house as a coaching stop on the Turnpike road from Chichester to Southampton. There is a beam in the living room with 1754 carved on it.
P.G. Wodehouse based a lot of his novels on Emsworth and his aunt Marion lived in the main house. He loved the peace and quiet of Emsworth and wrote many of his books here.
In the last year the house has been completely renovated and has included underfloor heating and the installation of the wetroom and kitchen.

Dating from the early 19th century, Dolphin House was originally a hotel and Queen Victoria is rumoured to have stayed here during her visit to the town in 1849 - hence the renaming of the road from Dolphin Hill to Queen Street in her honour.
A short spell as a 'house of ill repute' adds to the building's colourful history and now Dolphin House is divided into six spacious flats. It is situated just metres away from the sea and has beautiful views of the neighbouring boatyard and moorings
