‘Soft engineering’ plans are not suitable for the coastal path from west Emsworth into Nore Barn Woods

Natural England (NE) are still working on the national King Charles III coast path including the section west of Emsworth.  One stretch awaiting finalised plans runs between the sea end of Warblington Road and into Nore Barn Woods.

Emsworth film production agency, Millstream Productions, wins Gold at national film awards

Millstream Productions and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have thanked their “remarkable supporters” for crowning them the People’s Choice Award at the Smiley Charity Film Awards.

The film, commissioned by the life-saving charity and created by Millstream Productions, received enough votes from the public to ensure it took Gold .

Entered into the awards was James’ Story - a film that told the story of 32 year old James from Alton who was involved in a high-speed road traffic collision in July 2022 James sustained devastating injuries, including numerous fractured ribs, a fractured sternum, a fractured lower leg, a fractured arm and a fractured pelvis. His blood pressure was dangerously low and his heart rate was climbing, indicating he was bleeding internally.

The former newsagents of a Hampshire town has been transformed into a eco lifestyle store that is helping locals reduce their plastic waste.
Bradly and Kharran Piper have opened the Naked Pantry in the High Street, Emsworth. The new store is at the same site where they ran a newsagents for 16 years.

Audiologists send hearing aids to one of the poorest countries in the world 

HAVANT Audiology centre recently donated over 80 hearing aids to the African Bible College Clinic in Lilongwe, Malawi. 

 

Specsavers Audiologist Ruth Avierinos organised this initiative, having spent two weeks volunteering at the clinic before she began working with the team in the Havant store. 

 

Ruth is the founder of a not-for-profit charity called Faith Ears. The goal of the non-profit is to help reduce the negative connotations associated to hearing aids in society by helping to reduce the stigma around them.

Unexploded Bomb, Bath Road Can you help?

Was your family in Bath Road, Emsworth in 1943? Helen Price, daughter of Jack Victor Morgan, visited Emsworth Museum in June to try and find out more about an unexploded bomb dropped by the Luftwaffe that destroyed her father’s family home and that of a neighbour.

Emsworth Town Youth F C Take Part in the Great South Run 2023 Mini & Juniors

In April Tom (The Girls and Boys' Football Coach) & I thought it would be a nice idea for the children to come together as Football teams to compete in the Great South Run 2023 Mini & Juniors. We put it out to the children and parents and they were extremely up for the challenge. The Teams are both part of Emsworth Town Youth Football Club.

The Brookfield Hotel in Emsworth to be turned into new pub after being bought by Heartwood Collection

A lavish hotel has been sold to a hospitality company and will become an inn.

The Brookfield Hotel, Emsworth

The Brookfield Hotel in Havant Road, Emsworth, has been bought by Heartwood Collection along with several other locations. It was on sale for £3.4m, with the previous owners going into semi-retirement.  The hotel will become The Rope & Anchor in homage to the towns history and coastal location – while being housed under the Heartwood Inns umbrella.

Hayling Sewage Watch an Update

.

 Hayling Island has had a blue flag beach for over 30 years and the local council has never issued sewage pollution warnings when Southern Water dumps raw untreated human excrement onto our sea just 1km away from our blue flag beach. Our beach is a UK hotspot for watersports and massive participation of wild swimming year round including those where GP's have prescribed sea swimming for patient mental health.
