As a
result of proposed Government re-organisation, St Richard’s Hospital
faces being downgraded to a cottage hospital or even closure. The
decision may be made within six weeks. We at Emsworth Surgery believe
St Richards is key to the quality of health care you are receiving.
Your local hospital has been rated the South East’s Top Hospital in
2005 and also been given the most consistent Top Hospital award based
on its performance. Its downgrading or closure would be a huge loss.
WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP.
Please tell your friends and write or email your local M.P. We must
ensure we can continue to offer YOU a service second to none. Every
letter or email really does count. Lack of action now could result in
our local health service changing forever.
This is some of what we will lose
if St Richard’s is down-graded:
- There will be no treatment of
Serious Accidents
- If your children are
seriously ill they will no longer be treated at St Richards
- Having a baby? You’ll need to
travel to Worthing or Portsmouth.
- Ill and needing surgery –
prepare to travel
- In need of A & E? Think
again, it will only be open during the day-time and for minor
injuries only
* You currently have a first class service from some of the best
Consultants in the country. This will gradually change as we are no
longer able to attract the best.
WE ARE ALL FACING THE BIGGEST POTENTIAL HEALTH CARE CHANGE TO AFFECT
THIS AREA FOR DECADES.
