In Emsworth the Festive Season begins on Friday 28th November


Christmas in Emsworth 2014 Well known for its independent shops and highly regarded restaurants, Christmas events in Emsworth this year will once again highlight what a unique place it is.  The Emsworth Business Association has been working with many elements of the town to put together a programme of real community events that will make a visit to Emsworth an absolute must over the festive period.


Friday 28th November - Switching on the Christmas Lights & the arrival of Father Christmas

The fun starts from 5.15pm in St. Peters Square with community carol singing & music led by Canon Simon Sayers, featuring the Emsworth Concert Band as well as pupils from the village’s primary schools. Emsworth’s youngest school age resident, Esme Howard (Born 08/10) will switch on the Christmas lights with the Mayor of Havant, before the arrival of Father Christmas as he travels onto his Grotto in The Hewitt Centre in South Street. The Grotto* will be open from 6.00pm and children of all ages are welcome. There will also be a Festive Market in South Street Car Park from 4pm and many shops from North Street down to the Quay will be open and Emsworth Fire Brigade are welcoming children to the station so they can climb onto the fire engine – what better way to start the Christmas period?                              *a small charge of £1.50 per child


Saturday 6th December - Free Parking in Emsworth

In conjunction with Havant Borough Council’s support of ‘Small Business Saturday’, parking will be free in Emsworth for up to 3 hours for this Saturday only. Come and support your local shops and enjoy the festive lights.


Saturday 13th December – The Emsworth Local Produce Christmas Market

Emsworth’s fabulous local produce market takes on a festive feel. Hewitt Centre 10am – 1pm


Saturday 20th December - Emsworth Christmas Market Day Featuring Hampshire Farmer’s Market

A special Christmas market from 10am until 2pm with Hampshire Farmer’s Market in South Street Car Park .The Salvation Army Band will be in North Street from 11.30am and there will be a special ‘Santa Trail’ for the children to enjoy.  There will also be special Festive offers in many of Emsworth’s shops.


Sunday 4th January 2014- Recycle your Christmas Tree for FREE

Brightside Tree Surgery will in St.Peters Square between 10am – 12noon - recycling Christmas Trees free of Charge. Bring your tree and then why not visit one of Emsworth’s fantastic Cafes or Public Houses - an ideal way to round off Christmas.
