The Localism Act allowsallow local communities to shape new development by coming together to prepare neighbourhood plans.

I Emsworth, lacking a parish or town council eighbourhood planning can be taken forward byEmsworth neighbourhood forums. Neighbourhood forums are community groups that are designated to take forward neighbourhood planning. It is the role of the local planning authority to agree who should be the neighbourhood forum for the neighbourhood area.

Currently Havant Council is consulting the Public on the Emsworth Forum’s application to become a Neighbourhood Forum from February 24th to April 7th. If you support our application you can tell them so by joining us as a member and/or by responding to the council via their website. http://www.havant.gov.uk/neighbourhood-planning/emsworth-

The Emsworth Forum will take the lead giving the community the power to: make a neighbourhood development plan; make a neighbourhood development order and make a Community Right to Build order.
