Emsworth Town Council Campaign Update
We’re writing to update you on
Havant Borough Council’s Community Governance Review for
Emsworth. This review follows last year’s Emsworth Residents
Forum petition asking the council to set-up an Emsworth Town
Council (referred to in the review as a Parish Council).
You’re receiving this update because you asked to be kept
informed.

Havant Borough Council’s first
consultation is nearly finished. It asks what form of local
governance do people prefer for Emsworth. The options are:
Option 1: No change at all
Option 2: Establish a parish council
Option 3: Introduce an alternative community
governance arrangement
The ERF recommends Option 2, as we
believe a parish council delivers stronger local democracy
and decision making powers than the alternatives in Option
3.
Anyone with an interest in the
consultation can take part — you don’t have to live in
Emsworth; you might just work or shop there. And it’s one
response per person, not per household, so please encourage
family, friends and neighbours to take part.
The deadline for responses is
Monday 23rd March, after which HBC will start to detail out
the most preferred option. If you want your views to count,
please complete the consultation sing the link below.
