Memories of the 2006 Emsworth Food Festival
Text
When you go out for meal its not
just about the food, you also want atmosphere, which is
why the 2006 Emsworth
Food Festival offered a fantastic programme of entertainment
each and every day of the festival. From the north of the
village, through to the main stage in the village centre,
and down to the picturesque harbour quay, there eas a
three-day programme of great entertainment for everyone both
young and old – and it was all free!
Unique to the Emsworth Food
Festival were the themed areas, which were spread around the
village. In 2006 three new and innovative additions
were included during the three days of the festival with
even more to taste and see.
A major attraction
in 2006 was the
re-launch on the Friday of ‘The Terror’, an old oyster boat,
designed and built in Emsworth during the 19th Century.
Following careful renovation overseen by the Chichester
Harbour Conservancy and its partners, the boat
feature in a day of
special events, including a re-enactment of its role in
Emsworth's maritime heritage culminating in firework display
at the quay.
The images below recapture those
moments.
