Emsworth's History - Listed Buildings
Emsworth’s Listed Buildings
Emsworth boasts an impressive 70 or so listed buildings, a high number for such a small place. All are Grade II, and almost all are within the centre’s five main streets: High Street, South Street, West Street, Queen Street and King Street – with Tower Street an elegant enclave. Most offer a handsome façade, these also protected by the centre’s Conservation Area designation.
Several of the older inns retain old beams and vestiges of ancient dimensions. Details are extracted from the Listed Buildings register compiled by the old Havant borough Council and viewable on the Historic England website with useful maps.
